Compiling a Research Index
This initiative, by the Convert Muslim Foundation seeks to bring together existing knowledge about the British Muslim convert experience, making it easier for researchers, practitioners, policy makers, and community groups to engage with and build upon this work, identifying where there are gaps or misrepresentations.
By centralising these resources, this work aims to:
• Thematically catalogue existing literature on British Muslim converts across academic, governmental, NGO, and community sources.
• Highlight gaps in the research, providing a foundation for future studies, policy planning, and community services.
• Ensure convert voices are better represented within both Muslim spaces and public research.

What We’re Looking For - Publications, articles and materials that relate to:
• Social integration and identity formation
• Gendered experiences of conversion
• Community/mosque inclusion and belonging
• Mental health and emotional wellbeing
• Family dynamics, support networks, or rejection
• Discrimination, racism, and Islamophobia
• Conversion trends, demographics, and longitudinal studies
• Support services, case studies, and best practices

We are especially keen to include a diverse range of sources
• Academic research (articles, theses, dissertations) and reports from NGOs, charities, and mosques.
• Community-based research and grey literature
• Oral histories, personal narratives, or lived experience projects (this could include a blog, for example)
• Annotated bibliographies or research guides
