To God we belong and to Him we return. A former Roman Catholic, David Musa Pidcock has passed away this morning (5 December 2021). A Sheffield man, he was born in 1942, and became a Muslim in 1975 when working as an engineer in Saudi Arabia.
David (Daoud) Rosser-Owen (March 1943 - 5 December 2021), a significant figure in the postwar history of Islam in Britain, particularly with respect to the convert community, has passed away this afternoon "after a battle with cancer" his family has informed the Muslim community.

Appointed in May 2010 as the founding director of the re-launched Muslim Institute, Merryl continued her involvement with the activities of the Institute right up to her passing, most recently contributing to a panel discussion on 12 December 2020 ‘Against the New Normal: Covid and Our Futures’, with her friend and long-time collaborator Ziauddin Sardar, and her dear colleague in Malaysia, C Scott Jordan.
