Hold on to the Ramadan Momentum

Sadly, Ramadan has now drawn to its conclusion and we at Convert Muslim Foundation hope that you have enjoyed a wonderful Eid with family and friends.

It's important to reflect on the spiritual journey we've embarked on together and to find ways to carry its essence forward beyond the holy month. Your dedication and commitment to self-improvement and devotion during Ramadan, while overshadowed by the ongoing horror of lives lost and the trauma that has marred it usual beauty and peacefulness, have been truly inspiring and we encourage you to maintain that momentum as we transition back into our daily routines.

Here are some gentle reminders and suggestions to help you stay connected to your faith and uphold the spirit of Ramadan throughout the year:

Reflect and Improve: Take some time to evaluate your Ramadan experience. Continuing a fraction of the good deeds you practiced during the month is a positive step. Identify areas for growth and make a commitment to better yourself until the next Ramadan.

Make Up Missed Fasts: If you missed any fasts due to illness or travel, strive to make them up as soon as you are able. Remember, Allah rewards those who fulfil their obligations and encourages us to make up missed fasts.

Prioritise Salah: While it may be challenging to maintain the same level of prayer intensity as during Ramadan, strive to pray the 5 daily prayers regularly and in their time. Don't forget the importance of the Sunnah prayers where possible, as they hold great significance towards gaining extra blessings.

Continue Voluntary Fasting: Embrace the practice of voluntary fasting throughout the year, including Mondays and Thursdays and days like Shawwal, Ashura, Dhul-Hijjah and other recommended days. Each fast brings us closer to Allah and strengthens our spiritual resolve.

Stay Connected: Remain actively engaged with your community by participating in events and activities that foster unity and connection. Volunteering and giving back, particularly towards those on the verge of or have just recently entered the faith, not only benefits them but also nourishes your soul and deepens your sense of belonging.

Support Charitable Causes: Consider supporting the Convert Muslim Foundation, as we continue in our commitment to support those new to Islam, by setting up a recurring monthly donation. Your generosity, however small but consistent, can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need of guidance and support. Maintaining this regular sense of giving allows us to continue the spirit of Ramadan throughout the year and will bring abundant blessings to you and to your family.

Seek Forgiveness: Seeking forgiveness from Allah swt regularly, acknowledging our imperfections and striving to improve ourselves is encouraged as a daily self-reflective exercise. Keeping this practice alive fosters humility and strengthens our spiritual connection.

Our beloved Nabi ﷺ said, “The deeds most beloved in the eyes of Allah Ta’aala are those deeds carried out with continuity (regularity) although they may be small”

Sahih al-Muslim

As we have now bid farewell to Ramadan, let us carry its teachings and blessings with us throughout the year. May your continued efforts in acts of kindness, prayer, and charity be rewarded abundantly. Together, let us strive to make every day an opportunity to draw closer to Allah and spread love and compassion in our communities.

With warmest wishes - Wassalam,
